Alya in Terra-Land

A cautionary fairytale where fantasy meets environmental truth.

Alya in Terra Land is a stop-motion short film that reimagines Alice in Wonderland as a soulful, sustainability-driven adventure. Originally created to promote Expo 2020 Dubai’s Sustainability Pavilion, the film quickly took on a life of its own - captivating audiences at Terra Pavilion and indie cinemas with its handcrafted visuals and heartfelt message.

The story follows Alya, a 12-year-old Emirati girl, as she journeys through Terra Land - a surreal world both magical and damaged, filled with fantastical creatures and haunting reminders of our planet’s fragility. Each environment reflects a real-world ecological crisis: deforestation, pollution, overconsumption, and exploitation. Yet through the darkness, there’s light - hope, knowledge, and the power of individual action.

We helped bring this vision to life from the very beginning - shaping the original concept, creating adaptations, and overseeing all voice production in both Arabic and English. Working alongside Nukufilm, Europe’s leading stop-motion studio, we ensured that sustainability was embedded not just in the narrative, but in every frame - using repurposed sets, recycled materials, and meticulous handcrafted animation.

This project is a testament to the kind of storytelling we believe in: culturally grounded, emotionally engaging, and purpose-driven. Through creativity and craft, we turned an environmental message into an unforgettable cinematic experience - one that moves hearts, sparks conversations, and invites real-world reflection.
